Film is now in Filming status and also villains have been named.
Apparently Iron Patriot will be the main villain

And the Mandarin will be a sub villain which makes no sense...

And Ben Kingsley as the Mandarin is kinda awesome... but he should be the main villain.

well its Marvel so they can cross super hero villains and heroes. But i do agree Mandarin should be main villain as of the second movie but for some reason the crew keeps pushing him back now rumors are floating that Mandarin can be a villain in Avengers 2... also i found this. Guy Pearce as Aldrich Killian so we will be seeing "Extremis Army"

But... but... Thanos.

I guess it could work if they're using the Mandarin to introduce Earth's Infinity Gem. Still, using Spiderman requires crossing over with a rival studio. That's almost unheard of.

Also Thanos not will be Thor's villain in Thor 2 Marvel CEO said it.

I'm extremely confused on how they intend on using the Iron Patriot when there is no Norman Osborn. Who is going to be the Iron Patriot?!

Looking forward to seeing the Extremis storyline used, though I find the Extremis suit to be rather creepy.

I'm not saying that because of the Sam Raimi Spiderman. I'm saying that because Sony Pictures owns the movie rights to Spiderman, there for Osborn won't be crossed over into what has become the seperate Marvel Universe (i.e. Iron Man, Cap, Thor, etc.).

Sony does in fact own the movie rights to the Spider-Man characters, while Disney owns the merchandising rights. It's simple Hollywood logic. You don't place your money-making characters in competing studios films.

They can easily replace Osborn with some other character. They change comic storylines all of the time to adapt them to film.

Well they are in Filming so maybe in a few week they will release the entire cast list then we can finally confirm if they do indeed use Osborn or if they go a different route and create a new Character for that role...

Well then... Wasn't expecting that. Makes sense now since it seemed completely ridiculous to have multiple villains, and have Iron Patriot not be Norman Osborn. However I find it odd that this is how War Machine's armor evolved...
