Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem?
Back in November, a new Despicable Me themed pressed penny machine was installed in the City Walk rotunda. I took a picture of it when I first saw it, but didn’t think much of it until a recent trip to Universal. I stopped at the pressed penny machine again to show a friend, and something seemed different. I took out my phone to look at my old picture, and noticed they had changed the previous artwork on the top right of the machine to a generic Despicable Me logo.
Previously the logo had read “Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem”. Could this have been the final name of the new 3D attraction, accidentally placed on a pressed penny machine ahead of its release? Or perhaps it was a proposed name for the attraction never meant for public display?
UPDATE: Universal filed a trademark application for the title “Despicable Me Minion Mayhem” on January 12th, 2012 for use as “an amusement park attraction”. Looks like that title is all but confirmed at this point.
